The Tabasco chili originated from a state of that name in south-east Mexico, where the land is mostly flat and marshy, and it is hot and humid with extensive jungles.
Tabasco plants grow into compact bushes 30 cm to 1,2 meter high. Small, pointed chillies grow on branching plants. Each plant can bear 100 chilli pods that colour up from yellow to orange to red.
